A Day in the Park with Jennifer Garner.

My family and I were able to attend the THE ODD LIFE OF TIMOTHY GREEN, Frigidaire and Disney’s Adventures In Clean event, along with Jennifer Garner.  This was a day of fun filled activities from beginning to end.  My son keeps asking me when are we going back.

This day seemed to be the hottest day this summer, but with all of the activities I did not to worry about the heat.  There was definitely plenty of food and drinks.  When we arrived the kids were given a swag bag that had a water bottle and a Frigidaire tee shirt.  That water bottle has come in very handy for my seven year old that attends summer camp in these high temperatures.  All of the children put their tee shirts on, in preparation for the days activities.  They looked so adorable.

While we waited to start the day, we ate a plethora of food.  There were veggie and chicken sliders, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that had pretzels and bananas in them, veggie salad, macaroni balls, dessert and plenty of ice cold beverages.

We were split up into groups, our group was the green team.  We had a towel folding race for the mothers and the children, then there was an obstacle race for the kids and tug of war.  After the games were complete, we took group pictures.  You cannot have a fun party without a group picture.

The day at the park was so much fun. This was one of those times, I was okay with my son getting dirty.  Thank you Frigidaire for the tee shirt, I just wish you could have given me the washer and dryer to wash it out in.  Seriously, we had a wonderful time.

After the day in the park we were shuttled over to see the movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green, in which Jennifer Garner is starring in.  It was so funny, because when we reached the theather, there were so many cameras and people watching us walk in on the green carpet.  My daughter, is now upset, because she did not do her over the shoulder pose and my son keeps asking me, "Are we famous."

We enjoyed the entire day and are glad an invitation was extended to us.

We had a nice time at the Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure Screening

Yesterday, my children and I attended an exclusive screening and roundtable discussion of Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure that was created by Kenn Viselman.

When we arrived at the studio we were greeted by the organizers of the event along with breakfast and activies for the kids.  While eating breakfast the children were able to decorate Oogieloves lunch bags, with glitter, feathers and markers.  The mom bloggers were able to talk to one another and the organizers.  It is always good to make new connections.

I have attend serveral roundtables and have found this to be one of the best.  I say this, because Kenn Viselman told a story of how Oogieloves was created and his expectations for it.  I enjoyed listening to his story, but I was moved by what has inspired this project and other projects for children.  He is a man that seems to be very direct.  He does not have any children, but he is on the pulse of what shows and movies work for both children and parents. He told a story of how he was a different man a few years ago, but was changed by a child that was moved by one of his shows.  From that day forward he was a different person. Hearing his emotion while telling his story, I sensed he loves what he does and tries to create movies and televion shows that he hopes will impact many people in some way.

After the roundtable we were able to screen the movie.  It was fun to see the reactions from the children and hear their opinion of the movie.

We had a nice time.  I enjoy attending events that are enjoyable for the entire family.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Did It Again!

Circus Day  finally arrived and my seven year old was ready.  I was so proud of him, because the morning of the show he went upstairs to get his circus hat from last year.  He was going to be prepared for the evening Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailyey Dragons Show. We arrived just as the preshow was ending.  It was not my fault a 30 minute drive took 2 hours in Los Angeles traffic.

Needless to say we were seated for the beginning of the main show.  As soon as the ring master stood center stage and asked the children in the audience to stand, it was like we were attending the largest music concert.  The kids were on their feet and following his instructions.  It is always so good to hear the sounds of happy children and watch the expressions of excitement on their face.  Attending a Ringling Bros circus is one place where kids and can be kids.

The anticipation of seeing the dragons was rising in my section.  As soon as the winged Sky Dragons came out, the crowd went crazy, the kids did have the Spirit of the Dragon.  What a way to begin a show!

One of my favorite acts was the Hair-Haning Wonders of The West.  My daughter and I talked about it after the show and decided if that were us hanging by our hair we would have never survived, mainly because our hair is not thick.

Watching the animals is always fun, but watching Maestro of Magnificent cats kept us on the edge of our seats.  As the tamer, Alexander Lacey performed with the lions and tigers, I was so relieved when he told us that what we saw was part of the show.  It was such a wonderful performance.  I sinced he really loves the animals.

I just have to mention the Scorching Skywheels of the West.  That was probably the best act of the night,  watching the motorcycle on the wire, 70 feet above the ground, with the two young ladys spinning was so exciting.  I wish I could go into detail, but you have to see it.  All I can say is this was definitely a great performance.

Besides all of the performing the colors, the music and just the overall energy was incredible, that is why Ringling Bros. has done it again.  They are so creative with the theme and making sure there is a message for everyone to walk away with.  My family and I really liked the show.

We had a wonderful time and hope to attend next years circus.  All I can say is, "I have the spirit in me."  If you not made plans to go to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Dragons, add it to your things to do this summer.  You will have a wonderful time.

Be on the lookout for Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful

I cannot wait to see Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful.  I am sure my family is going to like it, because this movie is from the Producer of "Alice and Wonderland" and the Director of the "Spider Man" Triology.  I know when my son finds out this movie is coming out he will want to see it immediately, he loves adventure movies.  This is going to be a fun movie!

Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

“Oz The Great and Powerful” is produced by Joe Roth and written by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire (credit not final). Grant Curtis, Philip Steuer and Palak Patel are serving as executive producers. “Oz The Great and Powerful” opens in U.S. theaters on March 8, 2013.
