My Vet Depot and K9 Advantix II Review

My dog Heaven and I are happy after using K9 Advantix II from the Vet Depot.  We received a full sized sample of K9 Advantix II for Heaven to try about two weeks ago. 

Prior to receiving the sample I browsed Vet Depot and found a variety of items for pets at discount prices.  In my case Heaven suffers from hot spots in which she did not have before.  I noticed they came after I stopped using topical prevention on her.  I had been using it every month for four years, but someone at the pet store told me it was not neccessary, especially if she is an indoor dog.  That was the biggest mistake I could have made with her.  Please keep in mind, Heaven is a resuce and I have been taking very good care of her. 

 

 

I could not wait to put K9 Advantix II on, because I have been hoping this would help with her skin issues.  Through, my research and speaking with vets, fleas and ticks can cause hot spots.  I have not seen any fleas or ticks on Heaven, but she definitely has hot spots.  She has only been using this topical prevention for a week, but I am seeing a slight difference.  Although, I did not see fleas before, I am feeling confident that she definitely does not have any on her.  I have disinfected my home and began the K9 Advantix II when I knew everything was fresh.  She is not scratching as much and I am suspecting like anything, I have to give it some time to really work.

 

Although we sampled K9 Advantix II, I plan on purchasing other items for Heaven from Vet Depot, it is definitely a one stop shop.  Vet Depot has allowed me to see many alternatives at a reasonable price.  I feel like I can find a solution for many things on this site.  This site is great for pet owners.

My Boys Hulk Avengers Classic Muscle Costume Review

My son is so excited! He has his Halloween costume, thanks to Custume Supercenter  Avengers Costume .  We were given the opportunity to select a costume and review it .  Since the Avengers is one of the hottest movies children are talking about, my son selected the, Boys Hulk Avengers Classic Muscle Costume. The Avengers was one of the highest grossing movies, which brought in $200 million in the United States, I was able to find more information about the Avengers .  I have was not aware of the impact this movie has had until it was time to select a Halloween costume.  After reading the all of the facts I was rather impressed.



Costume Super Center has a wide variety of costumes. We  looked at funny costumes, starwars, scarey(He knows he is not allowed to get a scarey costume.) and Marvel Comics.  It was a fun experience, because we usually go into the store and purchase his costume.  After the order was placed, he did a count down of when he would receive it.  He knew the estimated date the costume would arrive and asked everyday if there was a package for him.  The package actually arrived two days before the anticipated date.  When he saw the box, he could not open it fast enough.  The Hulk costume had finally made it into his little hands.  He immediately asked, could he try it on and review it.  He tried it on, and his review was, "Mom this is the costume I wanted, so bad."  Yes, he wanted it badly and it looked exactly like the online picture. 



It fit perfectly, I am just hoping he does not grow too much within the next two months. Although, it fits perfectly, I am glad I chose the size I did, because I am not sure if a larger size would fit as nicely.  If he does grow it is fine, because from what I remember the hulks pants were not exactly a perfect fit anyway. The padding for the muscles are very soft.  The costume seems to be durable.  I will not be worried about it ripping if he is running around on Halloween.  I am very pleased with our selection.  Now, I need to buy green paint for his hands and neck and possibly his ankles if he suddenly has a growth spurt.

Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead is a nice summer read

What a wonderful way to begin a writing debut. Seating Arrangements is a well written novel, that held my attention throughout the entire story. An excellent story teller,  Maggie Shipstead has a way of telling a story that intrigued me.  Her writing style allowed me to envision the characters (the Van Meter family, the Duff's, the Fenn's and their extended family and friends) and the scenery of the New England Island of Waskeke.

The story centers around a three day wedding weekend that Winn Van Meter and his wife Biddy are planning for the eldest and pregnant daughter Daphne.  They have invited the grooms (Greyson Duff) family and some of Daphne's friends to their summer home in Waskeke.   Immediately the story seems to center around Winn Van Meter.  Winn is a very stiff, uppity.well to do family man that has worked hard to  acquire and maintain a high social ranking among his peers.  As the story goes on it seems that everything for Winn starts to unfold and he is made aware that socially and financially he cannot compete with his peers.  Winn reminds me of so many people of today.  On the outside things may seem so wonderful, but they have so many issues and insecurities that it is deceiving to others, but eventually the truth is revealed.

Over the course of the three day weekend, it becomes clear that these pretentious families on this island have so many dysfunctions it becomes hilarious, but yet sorrowful.  They are searching hard to be so prim and proper, they become somewhat classless.  It is nice to read a story that takes on a realistic approach about people no matter what socioecomic level they may fall under.  I was not expecting the lust, indiscretions and bad behavior.  There was a humanistic side to all of the characters in the story and I found it very enjoyable. 

The ending was not as I anticipated, but I guess are endings ever what we are anticipating.  Seating Arrangements was a small treat while trying to unwind, relax or enjoy my day.  Again, this was a nice debut for Maggie Shipstead. 

My interview with Odeya Rush star of The Odd Life of Timothy Green

I was given the opportunity to interview Odeya Rush, one of the stars of The Odd of Life Timothy Green. I have meet many celebrities, but meeting Rush was a refreshing experience. She epitomizes beauty inside and out. Upon our initial meeting, I was in awe by her friendliness and warmth. Starring in The Odd Life of Life of Timothy Green a result of hard work and determination. Having seen the film and meeting her was an inspiration for me and my children. I hope viewing my interview with Odeya Rush and going to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green will inspire you in some way. The Odd Life of Timothy Green is movie that the entire family will enjoy.

My family has Twinkle Toes:The Movie

Last week I was asking myself who is Twinkle Toes? Well this weekend now I know. Last weekend my son and I attended the Twinkle Toes: The Movie Launch Party. Prior to attending the event my family and I received a copy of the Twinkle Toes DVD.  I am sure you are probably thinking there is no such thing, there is only a shoeline.  Well....now there is a Twinkle Toes: The Movie that was released on July 31st, inspired by the best-selling, Skechers Kidsline footwear, Grace (Twinkle Toes) Hastings, headlined her first full lengthed feature film.



I have a seven year old son, that I always is, ALL BOY! I did not think he would want to sit and watch this movie with me nor would he want to attend the event. Suprisingly he watched the movie and attended the event. He says he enjoyed the adventure in the movie and there was "awesome" dancing at the launch party.   

I have to agree with my son, the young dancers were awesome! They were from local dance studios in the area. They were very talented and represented  SKECHERS and the Twinkle Toes brand in the most positive manner.  They wore the Twinkle Toes Footwear and looked so adorable and hip.


I went to the event with songs from the dvd playing in my head.  During the event there was a routine that included audience participation,  boys, girls, parents, it did not matter. My son refused to participate, but there were some willing participants, that got up  and had a wonderful time. I know Twinkle Toes seems to be geared towards girls, but I watched little boys and babies enjoy themselves as well. Who doesn't like to dance?

All Mighty Pacs is helping keep my family clean

As a member of Smily360, I received a package of All Mighty Pacs to try.  I was excited because, I am willing to find the right detergent to suit the needs of my family.

I do not know who was more excited, me or my kids.  My seven year old is always asking me if his swim towels or his swim wear are clean for the week.  For a kid that thinks summer time is a time to get completely dirty, I have to make sure I have detergent that works on hand.

What I like about All Mighty Pacs they are very simple.  They are super concentrated and they dissolve easily.  They have the right combination of powerful concentrated detergent with active stainlifters.  At first I was hestitant to use these pacs,because of the plastic pac, there are other detergent brands that have they same style pac and the pacs start to stick together or the pop open while just sitting in the laundry room.  I did not have this issue with All Might Pacs.

My washing experience was good.  I am still not convinced that only one pac is enough for any size load.  Overall I liked everything, except I am not completely sold on using the power pacs.   I like the idea of not having to measure the detergent, but I am  not sure if the pacs have enough detergent in them.  I am finding myself wanting to use the pacs on smaller loads.  My 17 year old daughter says, she wants to use two pacs for her larger loads.  I have used one pac on large loads and am not sure if I am satisfied.  The clothes appear to be clean, but I do not smell a lot of freshness.  I am into scents, so when I wash I want my clothes to smell like very clean laundry.  As for my sons stains they are gone, but I do pretreat them.

Everyone needs to watch Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead

I am a BzzAgent and I am bzzing about Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.  This is one of the best bzz campaigns I have completed.

I try to lead a healthy lifestyle and have always tried to encourage others to do so as well.  Prior to signing up for this campaign, I was considering juicing more.  Well, after watching this video I plan on buying a new juicer this week. 

Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead is so inspirational and motivational. While watching this film, I thought of my parents.  My mother is, overweight, diabetic and has high blood pressure, my father is a marathon runner that has suffered from a heartache and has high blood pressure and takes medication for his heart.  They are always at the doctor.  I keep telling them it is good to be active, but your food intake is important.  I am hoping that this dvd will motivate them and will help them to understand how to develop a better diet.   

This film was created by Joe Cross.  He was 100 pounds over weight and suffering from a disease called autoimmune disease.  This film follows Joe from day one of mission to lead a healthy lifestyle.  His goal is to  lose weight and get off of the prescribed medicine.  He knows the body can heal itself so, he sets out on a 60 day fast(I call it a cleanse) in order to do so.  It is amazing to see what the body can do and how it can heal itself, if you just take in the right things.  It was like watching a miracle as it happened.

Just watching Joe, go through this process was emotional, motivating and inspiring.  He literally went on a journey and was spreading the word to others throughout the United States.  He shared his thoughts, drinks, time and personal battles.  Along the way he was able to connect with two main people and he changed their lives forever.  This lead to others being inspired and the three of them encouraging others.

I was on the edge of my seat during different times of this film, because I was rooting for all three people.  There stories were so ratable.  I encourage you to watch this film.  I am hoping that it touches you the way it has touched me.
