#Monster Jam Review

Monster Jam was a great experience!  My son was excited to attend this event, but I and my daughter were not too thrilled, but as we walked through the stadium parking lot the sound of the monster trucks was exciting.  Once inside, seated and watching the show we were energized.  This was really a thrill.

The crowd was on fire.  Many cheers echoed through Angel Stadium for all of the drivers.  Everyone seemed to have had their favorite.  It was interesting to see trucks like Play'n for Keeps come out all geared up and then something happens, like the tire falling off.  Play'n for Keeps was then towed away and then we heard the engine roar of Monster Mutt Dalmatian, what a cutie.  She came out fierce and after ending her performance she went into the stands to great a fan, a little girl dressed like a Dalmatian.

Monster Mutt Dalmatian left the crowd ready for more, then trucks like Iron Outlaw came out fired up and immediately stalled, but tied with Monster Mutt Dalmatian.  There was a hype for El Toro Loco, who came out starting strong, but then tipped over.

One of the memorable trucks for me was Titan, he came out by greeting the audience with a hand wave and then with 45 seconds on the clock, the truck turned over and then was fueled with fire.  The crowd was cheering and I was frightened for the driver.  As it turns out everything was fine.  My two favorites were Grave Digger The Legend and Grave Digger. As the saying goes, save the best for last.   These two were the last of the trucks to come out and the crowd was going crazy.  When Grave Digger ended I found myself wanting more.

Who knew Monster Jam could be so fun and exhilarating!

MorningStar Farms Review

About a year ago I started purchasing MorningStar Farms.  I was only buying it at health food/specialty stores and they do not allow you to redeem coupons.  As a BzzAgent I received a free coupon and went to a major grocery store.  I was happy to see the variety of burgers/patties MorningStar had to offer.  I was surely missing out, there is wider selection in the larger super markets.

My daughter became a vegetarian over a year ago and she has been looking for a variety of things to eat, she has been purchasing MorningStar.  Just like me she did not know there were other options, so you could imagine here reaction when she heard there were so many more options than we were aware of.

We had never tried the Chik'n patties, so I purchased them with my free coupon.  When we sat down to eat, we were pleasantly surprised.  My seven year old son, was asking could he take a sandwich to school for lunch the next day.  This was a hit in my home.  The patties had a nice flavor and were very light, they have 64% less fat.  I did add some light condiments and these veggie patties were so good!

With trying to increase our vegetable intake MorningStar is a good choice to add to our diets.

Emmy Rossum- #Sentimental Journey

Emmy Rossum's newest 'passion project', album Sentimental Journey has taken me on a Sentimental Journey.  Often times, I have asked myself, "What happened to good, clean music?"

Like Rossum, I was not born during the era these classics were first created, but grew up in home that listened to this genre of music and I am now passing along to my children.

I was taken aback by the title track Sentimental Journey.  I have associated Rossem with her character Fiona from the hit show Shameless, so upon listening to the first song I began to see she was really a multi-talented actress and singer.  Then when I heard track six, Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out, I was sold.  She could not have chosen a better song to put on her album, especially in todays time.  The song choices for this CD were well selected, there is a song for everyone, young or old.

It refreshing to see such a young person singing classic pieces.  She has an amazing voice and hope to hear more from her soon.  She is definitely showing off her many talents.

Disclosure:
I participated in this campaign for One2One Network. I received a free copy of the CD to facilitate my review. By posting, I am eligible for incentives. All opinions stated are my own.

Parnevu Review

Having healthy hair is important to me.  With so many hair care products on the market it can sometimes be hard to find hair care products that work well for my hair.  For years I had been using another brand that I had been pleased with.  Recently I received Parnevu T-Tree Shampoo, Conditioner and T-Tree Growth Creme and was pleasantly surprised and am now using Parnevu instead of the other hair care line I was using before.

Finding a product that locks in moisture is essential for me for I have sandy brown hair that can look pretty dry when it is straightened (pressed/flat ironed) or when wet and worn naturally.  Prior to trying Parnevu I have used T-Tree Oil for an itchy or dry scalp as a way to moisturize my hair.   T-Tree oil offers many advantages for the hair like:
  • T-Tree oil naturally nourishes the hair and scalp
  • Locks in moisture
  • Stops itching
  • Prevents flaking
  • Removes unwanted build-up from hair left by other shampoos
  • Natural conditioning agents in the conditioner repair and protect, leaving the hair softer, shinier, and manageable and tangle free
  • Strengthens hair
  • Stimulates growth
  • Prevents split ends
  • Stops breakage
Keeping this in mind I was eager to use Parnevu.  The Parnevu line is not only appealing because it has T-Tree oil, but it smells good.  Upon wetting  my hair I applied  a nickle size drop of shampoo on my hair and was surprised by how the shampoo lathered so quickly and with a small amount.  After washing my hair a couple of times it was squicky clean.  I then conditioned my hair and again the conditioner smelled just as good as the shampoo.  The conditioner is not too thick although it is very creamy.  Both of these products would be considered high quality hair care products.    Knowing the benefits of T-Tree Oil I have been pleased with using Parnevu.

A few months ago I cut my hair and do not plan on growing it back for a while.  But, my daughter is a nice length of hair and believes it is important to use products like T-Tree Herbal Growth Creme.  After applying it to her hair she said, "We are swictching to this!"    She applies it to her entire head when she wears it wet, when it is dry she uses it for her edges to lie them down or when she is wear her hair in a pony tail or just with a head band she then applies it through it.  So far she is pleased with it.

Moisture and shine have meet in my hair.  I am pleased with Parnevu T-Tree Oil and will continue to use the product.

Hungry Girl & Fiber One Event Review-New Fiber One 80 Calories Chocolate Cereal

Starting off the New Year off right, Hungry Girl and Fiber One are at it again. Hungry Girl, Lisa Lillien and Fiber One are promoting the New Fiber One 80 calories chocolate cereal along with Lillien's books, Hungry Girl Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World and Hungry Girl To The Max The Ultimate Guilt-Free Cook.

As many of us know, Hungry Girl uses Fiber One in many of her recipes. It will be interesting to see what recipes she creates with the New Fiber One 80 calories chocolate cereal. I have tried this cereal and I really like it. Upon tasting it I immediately thought; although, I am watching my weight, this will be good for my entire family. My seven year old is always asking me if what he is eating is healthy. I then thought of him, because he loves chocolate milk and I rarely give him the other chocolate cereals on the market. My 18 year old, daughter, who is always concerned with calories tells me she eats it as a dry snack. I on the other hand, would like to eat it both ways along with the many recipe options. During the event Lillien, when asked if she would be creating new recipes with this new Fiber One cereal she said, "Yes".

Being a fan, I have wondered, how she comes up with all of these recipes. Hungry Girl said she tries many of the recipes on her husband,a good taste tester who is not into dieting, if he likes it, it is good. I guess we should be thanking him as well for all of the many healthier options.

As a blogger, while attending this event I started out eating the the cereal and thumbing through the cookbooks, but when Lisa Lillien spoke to us I felt strongly about the paths I am taking as a blogger and as a woman that is now facing a slower metabolism. She is a real woman with many of the same issues and concerns most women have. I believe it is one of the secrets of her success. Hungry Girl believes in being real and having a brand with great integrity.

Listening to her speak of how she started out with an idea and telling her husband to give her six months and promising she would not drain their bank account. Who would have thought an idea, an email and having her eye on the ball would put her in the position she is in today. What an inspiration. She says, everything happened so quickly after sending out her first email, she knew she was on to something. And, yes she was, on to something. With many projects Lillien still hands on with all aspects of her business.

I left this event on a high. Thank you Hungry Girl and Fiber One for breakfast and inspiration.

If you have not tried the New Fiber One 80 calories Chocolate Cereal or read of any of Hungry Girl's Cookbooks you are missing out.

Woolzie Dry Ball Review

As most of you may know, I  wash a lot of clothes.  I have had the opportunity to review Woolzies Dryer Balls .  I have heard of people using dryer but did not quit understand why.

When I received the package all I could do was stare at the balls.  I kept thinking what am I supposed to do.  I washed a load of clothes and through one ball into the dryer.  When my clothes came out of the dryer I thought I felt a difference, I was not quit sure.  I should have read the directions or watched the above video.  I was supposed to use all six balls.  After using all six balls I could definitely feel and see a difference in my clothes.  They were soft.  My clothes are drying faster, but I have not been consistent in taking them out of the dryer when they are dry.  I am still waiting for the dryer to stop and then I take them out.  Like many people I like to save money, so I am making an effort to check the dryer more often.  The other mistake I have made was using my regular fabric softener in my wash load.  I have found that using that and Woolzies causes static. I have used the fabric softener out of habit.  I know you can add different scents to the Woolzies Dryer Balls, I have not done so, because I have not found a scent that smells like the fabric softener or dryer softeners that I like.  My clothes do not have the strong scent when they come out of the dryer I am relying on my deteregent for that fresh smell.  I am sure I will find something soon.

Overall, Woolzies Dry Balls do dry my clothes faster and softens them as well.

The Bic 4-Color Pen Review

BIC 4-Color

Participating in Bic 4-Color Pen campaign through Smiley360, has brought back so many memories for me.  I can remember as a child wanting a 4 color pen.  My mom who is now a pen collector always used the best pens and back then the 4 color pen was one of them.  When I was able to finally use one or get my own I thought it was the greatest thing.

The Bic 4-Color Pen is still convenient and fun.  As a mother of a seven year old this is perfect for writing notes to his school, especially when I want to write notes to his teacher in his Friday folder or weekly assignment sheet.  I can easily pick a different color for my notes to stand out, without having to search for a different color pen each time.

I received two pens and have given the other to my 18 year old daughter, who is college.  She always needs different color pens.  Giving her the Bic 4-Color Pen is a perfect, small gift for the start of the new semester.

Like I was when I was a child, my son is asking for his own 4 color pen.  I have not given him one yet, but I understand his  fascination with this pen and desires  of wanting one.

There are many uses for this pen, but this is how I am using my Bic 4-Color Pen at the moment.

Be sure to 'Like' BIC Pen Pals on Facebook for future offers and news on our great line-up of products

The House At The End Of the Street-Scavenger Hunt & Night w/ Mark Tonderai

Attending a launch party and scavenger hunt was fun!  I attended the exclusive Hollywood scavenger hunt and launch party for The House at The End of Street.  I am so glad I decided to go.  I almost did not go, because when I saw the word, "haunted"  I was afraid to go.  I had it all wrong.  The scavenger hunt was not scarey at all.  I was paired with a great partner and blogger, Jamie Gall of Minnesota Girl Transplanted in LA.  We had a nice time on the scavenger hunt and towards the end realized we put too much thought into our efforts to win.  We did not win, but we enjoyed ourselves.

The second part of the scavenger hunt led us to the Geisha House in Hollywood for the launch party for The House at The End of The Street.  The director, Mark Tonderai was in attendance and gave us insight about the film and showed video of how the film was made.  I had wanted to see this film before attending this event, but after watching scences from the movie, his interaction with the actors and listening to all of their views about the film I could not wait to get home and watch the film.  The House At The End of The Street is a film you want to see or add to your movie collection.

20 Mule Team Borax Review

I have been wanting to purchase 20 Mule Team Borax for a while and had not done so.  As a Purex Insider I was chosen to reveiw 20 Mule Team Borax.

I heard so many great things about Borax for a while.  Prior to this opportunity I had gone on review sites and read many great reviews.  Who would have thought, I would now being reviewing this product.

20 Mule Team Borax is 100% natural mineral from the earth.  Once it is removed from the ground it is washed, dried and boxed for consumers.

Borax naturally softens hard water, which protects your detergent so it can maximize cleaning power.

These are the things that attracted me to 20 Mule Borax, I have used it on on a couple of wash loads and have found that my families clothes do feel soft and stains are being removed.  As instructed I added 1/2 a cup of 20 Mule Team Borax to every load, along with my regular Purex detergent.  I have noticed that with my seven year old, sons clothes the stains are easy to get out while applying both Borax and Purex to the stain if they are hard stains. I am sure I can just use Borax alone to remove the stains.   I do not worry about the smaller stains and just wash the clothes and they seem to be coming out as well.  So far I am having a good experience with 20 Mule Team Borax, this is definitey good laundry booster.

I noticed on the box it says I can use it for house cleaning.  I am always cleaning, so I plan on trying it in my bathrooms and kitchen as well.

Borax provided a free sample of their product so I could review them.  However, this review is all of my opinions and personal experiences.

Posy Lane Duffle Bag Review

My son received one of the boys duffle bags from Posy Lane to review.  He absolutely loves it.  He knows it is for sleepovers or when we are going on a trip, but he wants to put his legos and books along with his clothing as well.  I think the best thing about this duffle bag is that it is personalized.

Posy Lane has a wide selection of items ranging from bag back packs to personalized kids sleeping bags .

The bag we received is very nice.  The material is not too light or too thick.  It seems to be very durable and is just the right size.  My son likes to take care of his things and does not like getting things too dirty.  If his bag gets dirty I can wash it as well.  Now when we are are on the run with a get away or sleep over, he just grab  his duffle bag.

Head over to the Posy Lane there is something there for boys and girls.
