My Frankenweenie Review
"Is this a scarey movie or a laughing movie, mommy?" That is what the little girl was asking her mom while sitting behind me, on the night my kids and I attended the Frankenweenie at Disney Studios. She may have been all of four years old and throughout the movie, she kept saying this scarey. There were moments she would laugh, she loved Fluffy. Every time she saw Fluffy on the screen she would say, "Fluffy!", even when Fluffy changed a little. And Fluffy was not the star of the movie. I guess everyone found a character they liked in this movie.
After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, a boy named Victor researches the power of science to bring his best friend back to life. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.
Just as the little girl behind me had her opinion of the movie my kids had there's. My seven year old, son jumped, laughed and screamed. My 18 year old, daughter laughed and cried. She gets emotional when she watches movies, but I did not think this movie would be one of them. I literally looked at her and said, "Are you crying?" I could not believe my eyes.
Frankenweenie has put us in the Halloween spirit and now we are ready to begin our crafts, make snacks and play games. Just yesterday, I heard my son and daughter quoting lines from the movie. My son was doing so more than my daughter (she is 18). But, they were sitting around and talking about the movie. I am glad they enjoyed it.
I would like to share a few Frankenweenie projects, recipes and games with you. I hope your family enjoys them as well. We plan on making a few things and playing a few games as well, so why not share.
